The reaction of LiR with M(eta(5):eta(1):eta(1)-C5Me4SiMe2NCH2CH2OMe)Cl-2 (1, M = Zr (a), Hf (b)) gives the isolable, thermally stable complexes M(eta(5):eta(1):eta(1)-C5Me4SiMe2NCH2CH2OMe)R-2 (R = Et(2), Pr-n (3), Bu-n (4)), which contain two alkyl ligands with beta-hydrogen atoms.
