  Reactions between perfluoro-2-methyl-2-pentene and NaN3 in acetonitrile at -20 degreesC provided perfluoro-2-methyl-3-azido-2-pentene stable only to 0 degreesC, which decomposed in CCl4 at 20 degreesC to give 2,2-bis(trifluoromethyl)-3-pentafluoroethylaziridine or in EtOH at 20 degreesC to 4,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)-5-ethoxy-5-pentafluoroethyl-1,2,3-triazoline, whose structure was confirmed by the X-ray crystallographic analysis.
