Volatile iridium(I) complexes [Ir(cod)Cpx] (Cpx = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl Cp*, ethylcyclopentadienyl CpEt, cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) are synthesized and characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy. The [Ir(cod)Cp*] complex is a solid and the [Ir(cod)CpEt] complex is a liquid (SATP).
