An aminolytic cleavage of γ,δ-unsaturated-δ-lactonic substituents of disubstituted nickel(II) complexes of dibenzotetraaza[14]annulenes (1 and 2) has been accomplished by means of aliphatic amines and diamines. The reaction led to amide groups containing derivatives having either pendant open-chain γ,γ′-substituents or γ,γ′-bridging groups. The products were characterized by 1H NMR and IR data.
