Influence of the Li+ on the Structure of the [Cu3(phis)3]3+ Cation

When [Cu-3(phis)(3)](ClO4)(3), obtained from Cu(ClO4)(2) . 6H(2)O with the Na+ or K+ salt of the phis anion (Hphis = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-L-histidine), is reacted with LiClO4, the tricopper cationic structure rearranged to accommodate a Li+ ion to form [(ClO4)Li{Cu-3(phis)(3)}](ClO4)(3) which can also be prepared directly by reacting Cu(ClO4)(2). 6H(2)O with the Li+ salt of the phis anion.
