Although the use of molecularsieves for imine synthesis is a common protocol, there have been no comprehensive studies on heat-drying methods. This can be crucial for reproducibility. It was found that molecularsieve 5A dried at 160 °C for 5 h under vacuum efficiently promoted the condensation of various ketones and amines to afford even relatively bulky ketimines. Several control experiments and
have developed a novel and practicalmethod for the preparation of α-amino acid derivatives under mild conditions. In this approach, the photoexcited naphthalene thiolate acts simultaneously as a photoexcited single-electron reductant and a hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) catalyst, enabling efficient metal-free radical–radical cross-coupling of formate with ketimines and aldimines.

but the development of suitable conditions for alkylation of cubanes is quite challenging. Herein, a photoinduced method for aminoalkylation of cubanes is reported. The benign conditions reported allow the incorporation of a wide variety of (hetero)arylimine reaction partners with broad functional group tolerance and high diastereoselectivity.

There is provided a method of economically producing a cyclic poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) composition and a linear poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) with high efficiency in a short time. The production method of the cyclic poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) composition and the linear poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) uses (i) an organic polar solvent of not less than 1.20 liters and not more than 100 liters relative to 1.0 mol of a benzene ring component in a reaction mixture, and (ii) as a base, at least one species selected between sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, or a base mixture of at least one species selected between sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate and at least one species selected among carbonates and bicarbonates of alkali metals having higher atomic numbers than sodium.
