  A simple procedure for the C−N cross-coupling of inactivated aryl chlorides with amines under catalysis by a self-activated Ni/NHC system generated in situ from readily available air-tolerant precursors (NiCl2 complex with pyridine, IPr ⋅ HCl salt and sodium tert-butoxide) has been developed.
