  Several representative compounds with the new heterocyclic system thiazolo[3,2-a]pyridine have been obtained by condensation between alpha,beta-unsaturated ketoesters and the N-mercaptoethylenamines of beta-ketoesters in a tandem conjugate addition-cyclization process.
