  Biphenylene-4,4'-dilithiodiselenolate or biphenylene-4,4'-bis(trimethylsilylselenium) can be used to prepare the complex [PdCL(PnBU(3))(2)SeC6H4C6H4SePdCl(PnBu(3))(2)]. The dimer contains two trans-MCl(Se-)(PBu3)(2) metal centers separated by a planar biphenylene moiety.
