New N-pyridinothiourea derivatives have been prepared by the high-pressure-promoted condensation of isothiocyanates with aminopyridines under uncatalyzed conditions. Complexation of the prototype 3c with diphenyl hydrogen phosphate was investigated by H-1 NMR, and the results suggest that it may be useful as a building block for hydrogen-bonding receptors.
