The present invention relates to a lithographic printing plate precursor comprising:
a) a substrate,
b) an imageable layer which comprises a polymeric binder having an acid number of 40 mg KOH/g or more,
wherein the polymeric binder comprises A recurring units derived from one or more N-alkoxymethyl (alkyl)acrylamides or alkoxymethyl (alkyl)acrylates, B recurring units having pendant cyano groups, C recurring units having pendant 1H-tetrazole groups, and D recurring units other than those for A, B, and C, and
the amount of A recurring units is from 2 to 80 weight %, the amount of B recurring units is from 10 to 85 weight %, the amount of C recurring units is from 5 to 80 weight %, and the amount ofD recurring units is from 10 to 85 weight %, all based on total polymeric binder weight, and
c) a separate layer that is in thermal contact with the first layer and comprises an IR radiation absorbing compound.
