The synthesis of some N,N '-bis-(amido) chlorotoluenes is described. These compounds are prepared by the condensation of various amides with the appropriate chlorinated benzaldehyde.

Symmetrical bisamides were synthesised from aldehydes and amides in the presence of distilled acetyl chloride. The reaction is rapid, clean and gives the products in excellent yields.

A highly efficient procedure for the preparation of N,N ′-alkylidenebisamides in the presence of nano-SnCl4.SiO2 as a catalysis described. N,N ′-alkylidenebisamides have been prepared via condensation reaction of various aldehydes and amides. All of the reactions proceeded in high yields and in moderately short reaction times.
Nano-Mn-[phenyl-salicylaldimine-methyl-pyranopyrimidinedione]Cl2 Nano-[Mn-PSMP]Cl2} as a new Schiff base complex was prepared and characterized by various analyses such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal gravimetric analysis (DTA), mass spectroscopy (MASS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Nano-[Mn-PSMP]Cl2 was used as an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of N,N′‐alkylidene bisamides.
