    This invention relates to a coextruded, transparent, biaxially oriented polyester film comprising a base layer (B) and a heatsealable top layer (A) which is peelable from at least CPET, the heatsealable and peelable top layer (A) consisting of a) 80-98 % by weight of polyester and b) 2-10 % by weight of inorganic and/or organic particles having an average diameter d 50 of from 2.5 to 12.0 μm (based on the mass of the top layer (A)), wherein c) the polyester is composed of 12-89 mol % of units derived from at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 11-88 mol % of units derived from at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, the sum of the dicarboxylic acid-derived molar percentages being 100, d) the ratio of particle diameter d 50 and layer thickness d A of the top layer (A) being greater than/equal to 1.0 and e) the layer thickness of the top layer (A) d A being from 2.3 to 10.0 μm. The invention further relates to a process for producing the film and to its use.

    Coextruded, biaxially oriented polyester films which have a white base layer (B) and have a heatsealable outer layer (A) that can be peeled from APET/CPET and from CPET, where the outer layer (A) includes a) from 80 to 99% by weight of polyester and b) from 1 to 10% by weight of inorganic and/or organic particles with a median diameter d 50 of from 2.5 to 12 μm, and where c) the polyester is composed of from 12 to 89 mol% of units derived from at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and of from 11 to 88 mol % of units derived from at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and d) the ratio calculated from the particle size d 50 of the particles and the layer thickness d A of the outer layer (A) is greater than or equal to 1, and the base layer (B) comprises an inorganic white pigment and/or a polymer incompatible with polyester. The films of the invention are suitable as a packaging material for foods and other consumable goods or as a lid film for APET/CPET or CPET trays.
