  The bark of Araliorhamnus vaginata afforded 17 pigments which include two beta-methylanthraquinones, a dihydroanthracenone, two naphthoquinones, a naphthol derivative, nine 1-methylanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid methyl esters and two anthraquinone lactones. Of these, (R)-torosachrysone, six of the 1-methylanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid methyl esters and the two anthraquinone lactones, named araliolactone-A and -B. are new natural products.
