Tris(dimethylsilyl)methyl lithium, (HSiMe2)3CLi, reacts with allyl, phenyl, benzyl, n-propyl and n-butyl glycidyl ethers in THF at -5 °C to give 1-oxa-2-silacyclopentane derivatives.
