Abstract Organomercurials of 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2-mercapto-5-[4′-methyl quinolinyl-2-oxy methyl] -1,3,4-oxadiazole with aryl mercuric chloride have been synthesized under microwave irradiation in open vessels in a domestic microwave oven within a few minutes.
