The synthesis of polychlorinated phenoxyphenols (PCPPs) by three methods is described: condensation of chlorinated guaiacols with chlorobenzene or chlorofluorobenzenes in the presence of base, followed by O-demethylation; reaction of chlorinated diphenyliodonium salts with chlorinated guaiacols, or of 4,4′-dimethoxydiphenyliodonium salts with chlorophenols, followed by O-demethylation; chlorination of lower-chlorinated phenoxyphenols.

[1-Oxo-2-aryl or thienyl-2-substituted-5-indanyloxy (or thio)]aklanoic acid, derivatives thereof, their salts, esters and amides are disclosed. The products display a dual pharmaceutical utility in that they exhibit diuretic, saluretic and uricosuric activity. Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of such [1-oxo-2-aryl or thienyl-2-substituted-5-indanyloxy (or thio)]alkanoic acids, pharmaceutical compositions comprising therapeutically effective amounts of such compounds and methods of treatment comprising administering such compounds and compositions.

three‐component synthesis of N‐aminosulfonamides starting from diaryliodonium salts, hydrazines and sulfurdioxide is reported. This reaction proceeds under mild conditions at room temperature and is driven by visible light. A simple bisulfite salt can be used as a readily available and easy‐to‐handle sulfurdioxide source. Mechanistic studies support a catalytic photoredox pathway with the diaryliodonium
A photocurable ink composition for forming patterns resistive to electroless plating is disclosed which includes (a) an epoxy resin, (b) an aliphatic polyol polyglycidyl ether as a reactive, viscosity controlling agent, (c) a photopolymerization catalyst, and (d) hydrophobic silica particles as a thixotropic agent.
A laminate film is disclosed which includes a substrate film and a photocurable resin film formed of a photocurable epoxy resin, a photopolymerization catalyst and a phenoxy or butyral resin and supported on one surface of the substrate film. The laminate film is useful for forming an electrically insulating layer over a conducting surface by transference of the photocurable resin film to the conducting surface.
