A number of 5- and 7-oxothiazolidino[3,2-a]pyrimidines have been prepared from 1,2-dibromoethane and substituted 2-thiouracils. Compounds of the 5-oxo-series were also synthesised by reaction of 2-aminothiazoline and ethoxymethylenemalonic esters.
