Platinum(II) halide complexes of PPh2(CFCF2) and PPh2(CClCF2). The synthesis and crystal structure of [PtI(μ-I){PPh2(CXCF2)}]2, (X=F, Cl); the first crystallographically characterised iodide-bridged platinum(II) phosphine dimers

phosphines PPh 2 (CF CF 2 ) and PPh 2 (CCl CF 2 ), with K 2 PtX 4 (X = Br, I) have been investigated. The resulting complexes have been characterized by a combination of 19 F and 31 P 1 H} NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy. The reactions of these phosphines with K 2 PtBr 4 yield the monomeric complexes cis -[PtBr 2 PPh 2 (CF CF 2 )} 2 ] ( 1 ) and trans -[PtBr 2 PPh 2 (CCl CF 2 )} 2 ] ( 2 ), respectively
