Alkylidenediquinocyclopropanes and diarylcyclopropenes and the preparation of the former by oxidation of the latter and which are characterized by low energy electronic absorption, pronounced dichroism and characteristic specular reflectance.
A metallic charge-transfercomplex of a novel tellurophene-extended [3]radialene type acceptor with TTF was prepared. The one-dimensional metallic conduction was proved to occur through the acceptor column by X-ray crystal analysis and thermoelectric power measurement.

The title [3]radialene derivatives, having a hybrid structure of 2,5-bis(dicyanomethylene)-2,5-dihydrothiophene (thiophene–TCNQ) and tris(p-benzoquino)cyclopropane, and giving a stable radical anion and a dianion on two-step one-electron reductions, have been efficiently synthesised and the electrical properties of the conductive charge-transfer complexes with tetrathiafulvalene and related donors are described.
