Abstract The reaction of diphenylphosphine oxide successively with two aryne precursors was investigated in order to access valuable functionalizable nonsymmetrical dibenzophospholes. The reactions proved sensitive to substituents of aryne precursors able to coordinate the incoming lithiated nucleophile.
