    The present invention relate to a novel silane coupling agent and a medical and/or dental curable composition comprising the same. It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel silane coupling agent that imparts high affinity to a radical polymerizable monomer, thereby imparting high mechanical strength, flexibility and durability when used for a medical and/or dental curable composition, and an inorganic filler surface-treated with the novel silane coupling agent and a novel medical and/or dental curable composition. A silane coupling agent including repeating units such as a urethane bond and polyethylene glycol (ether bond) at a specific position is used.

    Abstract Wurtz-type radical coupling of a variety of allylic and benzylic bromides was observed on irradiation with dimanganese decacarbonyl in excellent yield (77-99%). Efficient cross-coupling of two different bromides was also readily achieved.

    Homo-coupling of alkyl halides in aqueous media can be mediated by manganese/cupric chloride to give the dimerisation products in good yield. Cross-coupling can also be controlled to give the desired product.

    Cobalt(III) ammine complexes coordinated to carboxylic acids are classic examples showing photoredox reactions originating from the ligand to metal charge transfer excited states. Cobalt(III) pentaammine complexes coordinated to unsaturated carboxylic acids as ligands were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic methods. The photolysis of these complexes produces a carboxylate free radical.

    A method of producing a highly stable packaging substrate in which are provided a first precursor having a first backbone and a first ethynyl group, and a second precursor having a second backbone and a second ethynyl group. Furthermore provided is a crosslinker having a first and a second reactive group. The first precursor, the second precursor, the crosslinker, and a solvent are applied onto a surface to form an electrically insulating layer. The first ethynyl group is reacted with the first reactive group in a first carbon-carbon bond formation reaction and the second ethynyl group is reacted with the second reactive group in a second carbon-carbon bond formation reaction to crosslink the first backbone with the second backbone, thereby forming the packaging substrate. The solvent is removed in a further step.
