    The invention relates to a process for preparing tertiary ether amines corresponding to the following general formula: ##STR1## by reacting in the presence of a strong base a tertiary amine corresponding to the following formula: ##STR2## with a sulfuric acid semi-ester salt corresponding to the following formula: R.sup.1 --(OC.sub.n H.sub.2n).sub.x --OSO.sub.3 M. (III) Preferably, each mole of the tertiary amine corresponding to formula (II) is reacted under substantially anhydrous conditions at a temperature of 140.degree. to 230.degree. C. with from about 0.2 to 3.0 moles of the sulfuric acid semi-ester salt of formula (III) in the presence of from about 1 to 1.5 moles of a strong base preferably an alkali metal hydroxide or an alkali metal alcoholate.

    Compositions, methods and kits for in vitro systems for synthesis of biomolecules such as polypeptides, are provided herein. Cell extracts that provide enhanced yields of soluble proteins using in vitro protein synthesis methods are provided. The invention also includes methods for producing high yields of proteins by the addition of a feeding solution that includes amino acids and an energy source to an ongoing in vitro synthesis system. The invention also includes methods of using a high-yield in vitro synthesis system to produce large quantities of proteins with incorporated labeled amino acids for analysis by methods such as by NMR. The invention further includes vectors for enhanced production of proteins from nucleic acid templates using in vitro synthesis systems.

    Provided are high lathering, conditioning shampoo compositions with improved deposition of nonvolatile, insoluble, dispersed phase fluid conditioning agent, said compositions comprising: (a) from about 5% to about 29.5%, by weight, of anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfates and alkyl ethoxylated sulfates, acids thereof, and mixtures thereof; (b) from about 0.5% to about 5%, by weight, of N-acylamino acid anionic surfactant and salts thereof; (c) from about 0.05% to about 10%, by weight, of nonvolatile, insoluble fluid conditioning agent dispersed in said composition; (d) from about 0.5% to about 10%, by weight, of crystalline suspending agent for said dispersed conditioning agent; (e) from about 40% to about 89%, by weight, of water; wherein the total detersive surfactant concentration in said composition is from about 10% to about 30%; the weight ratio of component (b):component (a) is at least about 1:20; and said composition is substantially free of betaine surfactants and alkanol amide foam boosters.

    The invention encompasses the synthesis of aripiprazole from BBQ and DCP, and comprises mixing 7-(4-bromobutoxy)-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril (BBQ) and 1-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)piperazine hydrochloride (DCP) in the presence of at least one base and at least one organic solvent to form a reaction mixture; heating the reaction mixture for a sufficient amount of time to effect the reaction; and isolating aripiprazole. The invention also encompasses the use of phase transfer catalysts in synthesizing aripiprazole from BBQ and DCP.
