An unprecedented Rh(I)-catalyzed, amino-group-assisted C–H carboxylation of 2-arylanilines with CO2 under redox-neutral conditions has been developed. This reaction was promoted by a phosphine ligand with t-BuOK as the base and did not require the use of additional strong organometallic reagent. It enabled an efficient direct conversion of a broad range of 2-(hetero)arylanilines including electron-deficient

Cationic palladium(II) catalyst realized facile C-Hactivation of aryl urea with arylboronic acids at roomtemperature. This reaction is extremely mild to carry out aromatic C-Hactivations through electrophilic substitution.

Cationic palladium(II) complexes have been found to be highly reactive towards aromatic C-H activation of arylureas at room temperature. A commercially available catalyst [Pd(MeCN)4](BF4)2 or a nitrile-free cationic palladium(II) complex generated in situ from the reaction of Pd(OAc)2 and HBF4, effectively catalyzes C-H activation/cross-coupling reactions between aryl iodides, arylboronic acids and

Palladium-catalyzed C–H direct arylation generally occurs on the ortho-position of directing groups. By comparing meta-arylated products of 2-naphthyl urea to ortho-arylated products of phenyl urea, the ortho- and meta-regioselectivity of aryl ureas were found to depend on the aromaticity of the corresponding aryl substituents. Thus, aromaticity is a new factor which can affect the regioselectivity
Unsaturated oligomers and solutions thereof are stabilized with a trisubstituted urea to provide improved storage stability. The stabilized unsaturated oligomer solutions are useful in lactam polymerization processes which yield nylon block copolymers containing unsaturated oligomer segments. The unsaturated oligomers disclosed herein have at least 4 carbons and have pendant thereto at least one hydroxy, amine, epoxy, acyllactam, or acyllactam precursor group.
