  A class of ω-amino-α-phenylalkanonitrile derivatives is described having use in treatment of cardiovascular dysfunctions such as hypertension. Compounds of most interest are those of the formula: wherein each of R₁ and R₂ is methoxy, R₃ is hydrido, R₄ is isopropyl, R₅ is methyl and R₆ is selected from linear alkyl, phenylpropyl, phenylbutyl and phenylpentyl.
