  On treating 1,1-bis(trimethylsilyl)alkan-1-ol with t-butyl hypochlorite, the corresponding acylsilane is obtained in good yield, while the reaction of the alcohol with NBS, in contrary, affords α-bromoacylsilane exclusively.
