    Provided is a method for easily and efficiently recovering an oxoacid catalyst without deterioration in reaction product yield and catalytic activity, where the oxoacid catalyst has been used in a reaction for oxidizing an organic compound with hydrogen peroxide, also provided is a method for producing an oxide in which an organic compound is oxidized with hydrogen peroxide using the oxoacid catalyst recovered by the method, to yield the corresponding oxide. A method according to the present invention recovers an oxoacid catalyst used in a reaction for oxidizing an organic compound with hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous/organic solvent two-phase system. The method includes Step 1 in which the pH in the reaction system is adjusted to 5.0 or higher so as to transfer the oxoacid catalyst to the aqueous phase, and the organic phase is removed.

    A method for the formation of a silica film which comprises treating a film in a supercritical medium, the film comprising (A) a siloxane compound and (B) at least one member selected from the group consisting of (B-1) a compound compatible with or dispersible in ingredient (A) and having a boiling or decomposition temperature of from 150 to 500°C and (B-2) a surfactant. The silica film has excellent mechanical strength showing a dielectric constant of generally 2.2 or lower, and hence is useful as a dielectric film in semiconductor devices and the like.

    A polymerizable composition for polythiourethane optical materials comprising a compound represented by the general formula (1),         M(L)n     (1) wherein, in the formula, M is Al, Fe, Cu, Zn, Zr or Bi; L is a dithiocarbamic acid group, a sulfonic acid group, a mono- or di-alkyl phosphoric acid ester group, a substituted acetylacetonato group or a halogen; and n is an integer of 1 to 5, one or two or more isocyanates selected from the group consisting of isocyanate compounds and isothiocyanate compounds, and one or two or more active hydrogen compounds each having a mercapto group. The compounds represented by the general formula (1) exhibit catalytic activity equal to or superior to that of organotin catalysts having been employed as catalysts for the production of polythiourethane optical materials from the past, and have high safety. Further, the thus obtained polythiourethane resins satisfactorily meet the property requirements for optical materials, in particular, excelling in weather resistance. Therefore, the proposed catalysts are available as novel catalysts replacing the organotin catalysts.
