  (EN) Novel hydroxybiphenyl derivatives of general formula (I), their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions containing same. In general formula (I), one of the symbols R1 or R2 is a carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, acyl, arylcarbonyl, alkoxymethyl, carbamoyl or thiocarbamoyl radical whose nitrogen atom is optionally substituted by one or two alkyl or phenylalkyl radicals, and the other is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy, alkoxy, alkoxymethyl, alkylcarbonyloxy or arylcarbonyloxy radical, and the symbols R3 and R5 each denote a hydrogen atom, the symbol R4 is a hydroxy, alkoxy, alkoxymethyl, alkylcarbonyloxy or arylcarbonyloxy radical and the symbol R6 is an alkyl or phenyl radical, or the symbols R4 and R6 each denote a hydrogen atom, the symbol R3 is a hydroxy, alkoxy, alkoxymethyl, alkylcarbonyloxy or arylcarbonyloxy radical and the symbol R5 is an alkyl or phenyl radical, the alkyl, phenyl and aryl radicals being optionally substituted.
