The indigoid dyes, thioindigo (TI), N,N'-diacetylindigo, (NDI) and oxalylindigo (OI), all undergo reduction upon irradiation of the dyes in the presence of electron donors such as triethylamine (TEA) or N-benzyl-1,4-dihydronicotinamide (BNAH).
