By capitalizing on the different reactivity of nitrile N-oxides with isocyanides and amine, alpha-oximinoamidines, a so far elusive class of compounds, have been synthesized in a straightforward way by reacting isocyanides, syn-chlorooximes, and amines in a multicomponent fashion.
