A highly efficient and cost-effective method for the preparation of alpha,beta,beta-trifluorostyrene (TFS) and its derivatives is described. The method required only 0.2 mol % of Pd(dba)(2) and 0.4 mol % of (PBu3)-Bu-t and occurred to full conversion within 2.0 h. With this method, a wide range of arylboronic acids were efficiently incorporated to generate alpha,beta,beta-trifluorostyrene derivatives.

(EN) Sulfonyl fluoride substituted $g(a),$g(b),$g(b)-trifluorostyrene monomers are disclosed. The monomers are incorporated into polymeric compositions which are conveniently hydrolyzed to produce polymeric compositions which include ion-exchange moieties. The resulting compositions which include ion-exchange moieties are particularly suitable for use as solid polymer electrolytes in electrochemical applications, such as, for example, electrochemical fuel cells.(FR) L'invention porte sur des monomères de trifluorostyrène $g(a),$g(b),$g(b)substitués par du fluorure de sulfuryle. On incorpore ces monomères à des compositions polymères aisément hydrolysées de façon à produire des compositions polymères comprenant des fractions échangeuses d'ions.
