1-Benzyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane dichromate (BAABCD) is a useful reagent for selective conversion of oximes and semicarbazones to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. The reaction was carried out under solventfree conditions and in the presence of a catalytic amount of aluminum chloride.
Oximes, hydrazones, semicarbazones and azines are converted to the corresponding carbonylcompounds using a combination of Zr(HSO4)4 and wet SiO2 in good to high yields under completely heterogeneous conditions.
The synthetic utility of potassium dichromate in the presence of Lewis acids under solid phase conditions is described. This reagent efficiently oxidizes alcohols, acyloins, oximes and semicarbazones to their corresponding carbonyl compounds, while trimethylsilyl and tetrahydropyranylethers, ethylene acetals and ketals undergo oxidative deprotection to produce carbonyl compounds efficiently.

Silica sulfuric acid in the presence of wet SiO2 was caused to react with oximes, hydrazones, semicarbazones, azines, and Schiff-bases. It was observed that it converts them to their corresponding carbonyl compounds in good to excellent yields under mild and heterogeneous conditions.
