    An object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a (meth)acrylate ester compound by the transesterification of an alkyl (meth)acrylate with an alcohol compound having a tertiary hydroxyl group so as to esterify all the hydroxyl groups present in the alcohol compound with a high yield or, in a preferred embodiment, a method for esterifying a polyhydric alcohol compound having a tertiary hydroxyl group and also having a primary hydroxyl group and/or a secondary hydroxyl group by one-pot transesterification into a (meth)acrylate ester compound of the polyhydric alcohol. The method for producing a (meth)acrylate ester compound includes a step (I) of transesterifying an alkyl (meth)acrylate with an alcohol compound having a tertiary hydroxyl group using a transesterification catalyst including a complex of iron with a specific ligand, the water content in the transesterification reaction system being not more than 1000 ppm.

    The invention relates to a method for reducing the negative effects of adhesive contaminants in the processing of waste paper, wherein an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising one component A and one component B for coagulation and detackification of stickies is added during the processing of waste paper, wherein component A is a homo- and/or copolymer of methyl methacrylate, acrylate and/or styrene and component B is a styrene copolymer having acrylic acid, maleimide and/or maleic acid hydride. The polymer dispersion can optionally comprise another component C, a cationic fixing agent that supports the coagulation of the stickies.

    The invention provides active energy ray curable compositions which exhibit good curability with active energy rays and which have a low viscosity to attain excellent application properties when applied as materials such as adhesives or coatings onto substrates and can give highly flexible cured products upon irradiation with active energy rays. An active energy ray curable composition includes a (meth) acrylic triblock copolymer (A) including a (meth) acrylic polymer block (s) (aA) having an active energy ray curable group containing a partial structure represented by the following general formula (1), and a (meth)acrylic polymer block(s) (bA) having no active energy ray curable groups, and a (meth) acrylic diblock copolymer (B) including a (meth) acrylic polymer block (aB) having an active energy ray curable group containing a partial structure represented by the following general formula (1), and a (meth)acrylic polymer block (bB) having no active energy ray curable groups, the composition having a ratio of Mn (bB)/Mn (bA) in the range of 0.2 to 2.0 wherein Mn (bB) is the number average molecular weight of the (meth)acrylic polymer block (bB) present in the (meth)acrylic diblock copolymer (B), and Mn (bA) is the number average molecular weight of the (meth) acrylic polymer block (bA) present in the (meth)acrylic triblock copolymer (A).
