These compounds were fully characterized using IR, NMR spectroscopic techniques, and elemental analysis. Mechanisms for the formation of the chroman moiety of these compounds were also proposed. MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay was used to estimate their cytotoxicity toward two cancer cell lines: human ovarian cancer (A2780) and human cervical cancer (Hela)
