  Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Mittel zur oxidativen Färbung von Haaren mit einem Gehalt an mindestens einer Kupplersubstanz der allgemeinen Formel wobei R einen geradkettigen oder verzweigten C₁- bis C₄-Alkylrest, X Chlor oder einen geradkettigen oder verzweigten C₁- bis C₄-Alkoxyrest und R¹ einen geradkettigen oder verzweigten C₁- bis C₄-Alkylrest oder einen geradkettigen oder verzeigten C₂- bis C₄- Hydroxyalkylrest darstellt sowie neue 2-Alkylamino-4-amino-1-alkylbenzole. Die Kupplersubstanzen der Formel (I) sind durch einfache chemische Reaktionen zugänglich, gut wasserlöslich und weisen, insbesondere als Bestandteil der hier beschriebenen Haarfärbemittel, eine guter Lagerstabilität auf. Die mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Haarfärbemittel erzielbaren Farbergebnisse zeichnen sich, neben der Vielfalt der Farbnuancen, insbesondere durch die Farbintensität der Rottöne und eine gute Farbreinheit der Blautöne aus.

  The new coupler compounds of the invention are 4-amino-2 -(2'-hydroxyethyl)-amino-5-methoxytoluene and/or 4-amino-2-(2'-hydroxyethyl)amino-5-chlorotoluene.
