    Titanium catalyzed one-pot multicomponent coupling reactions for direct access to substituted pyrimidines
    摘要:
    A titanium-catalyzed 3-component coupling reaction can be used to generate tautomers of 1,3-diimines. These diimines produced in situ undergo condensation with amidines in a one-pot procedure to provide substituted pyrimiclines. Seventeen examples of pyrimidines are provided using this one-pot, 4-component procedure from simple starting materials. In some cases, catalyst architecture can be tuned to control the regioselectivity of the alkyne addition. Finally, the regioselectivity of amidine addition to unsymmetrical 1,3-diimines is discussed.     Gas-phase thermolysis of thieno[3,2-e][1,2,4]triazines gave benzonitrile, isothiazole, pyrimidine, [1]benzothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine and thieno[3,2-d]thiazole derivatives. A mechanism of these pyrolytic transformation was proposed. Two new and efficient syntheses of the starting thieno[3,2-e][1,2,4]triazines were reported.

    This invention provides new electroluminescent materials such as a conjugated polymer or a phosphorescent organometallic complex, which are grafted with multiple charge transport moieties with graded ionization potential or electrophilic property. The charge transport moieties can be all hole transport moieties or all electron transport moieties. The emissive electroluminescent materials covering the full visible range can be prepared. Organic light emitting diodes prepared with these materials can be used as indicators, light source and display for cellular phones, digital camera, pager, portable computer, personal data acquisition (PDA), watch, hand-held videogame, and billboard, etc.

    The invention provides a liquid crystal compound which has stability to heat, light and so forth, a nematic phase in a wide temperature range, a small viscosity, a large optical anisotropy, and a suitable elastic constant K 33 , and further has a suitable and negative dielectric anisotropy and an excellent compatibility with other liquid crystal compounds. Moreover, the invention provides a liquid crystal composition comprising this liquid crystal compound and a liquid crystal display device containing this liquid crystal composition. A liquid crystal compound represented by formula (a): for example, R 1 and R 2 are alkyl having 1 to 10 carbons, alkenyl having 2 to 10 carbons or alkoxy having 1 to 9 carbons; ring A 1 and ring A 2 are 1,4-phenylene or trans-1,4-cyclohexylene; L 1 and L 2 are hydrogen or fluorine, and at least one of L 1 and L 2 is fluorine; and Z 1 and Z 2 are a single bond, —(CH 2 ) 2 —, —CH═CH—, —CH 2 O— or —OCH 2 —.
