The lanthanide chloride complexes with the ligand N,N,N′,N′-tetraphenyl-3,6-dioxaoctanedioic diamide (TDD) have been prepared in an ethanol-chloroform solution. These new complexes with general formula [Ln(TDD)Cl2(H2O)2]Cl(Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm-Er) have been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, IR spectra, f-f electronic spectra, 1H NMR spectra and TG-DTA techniques.
