  The present invention relates to a new formulation and application of insecticide that is effective in controlling agricultural chewing insect pests including, Spodoptera litura, Hellula undalis, Plutella xylostella, and Crocidolomia binotalis. The new formulation particularly relates to an insecticidal composition that contains lemon myrtle plant extract comprising (epoxy-linalooloxide, isopropyl 4-methyl-3-methylene-4-pentenoate, nerolic acid, and citral), oil (or Edenor), polysorbate surfactant (or Tween 80), and hydrophilic solvent such that the insecticidal formulation composition is an effective antifeedant and larvicide but is non-toxic to humans, animals and the environment.
