    There is provided novel 3-fluoro-3-phenyl oxindole derivatives of Formula I 1 wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 each are independently hydrogen, C 1-4 alkyl, halogen, fluoromethyl, trifluoromethyl, phenyl, 4-methylphenyl or 4-trifluoromethylphenyl; R 5 is C 1-6 alkyl optionally substituted with one to three same or different groups selected from fluoro and chloro, provided R 5 is not C 1-6 alkyl when Y is O; Y is O or S; and R 6 and R 7 each are independently hydrogen, chloro, bromo or trifluoromethy; which are openers of the KCNQ potassium channels and are useful in the treatment of disorders which are responsive to the opening of the KCNQ potassium channels.

    λ5-phosphinines through intramolecular cyclization is described. The incorporation of a heteroatom affected their photophysical properties through perturbation of the LUMO level, which is in good contrast to the HOMO-based tuning by the C-4 substituent. The C-3-substituent-based property tuning provides a new guide to designing phosphinine-based fluorophores.

    New ligands and compositions with bridged bis-aromatic ligands are disclosed that catalyze the polymerization of monomers into polymers. These catalysts with metal centers have high performance characteristics, including higher comonomer incorporation into ethylene/olefin copolymers, where such olefins are for example, 1-octene, propylene or styrene. The catalysts also polymerize propylene into isotactic polypropylene.
