The present invention relates to a polymer for surface functionalization, comprising a recurring unit of Formula (IV):
wherein: each R1c and R2c is independently selected from hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl; R3c is selected from hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl, or optionally substituted C7-14 aralkyl; Ar is selected from an optionally substituted C6-10 aryl or an optionally substituted 5 or 6 membered heteroaryl; RA is optionally substituted tetrazine; and L3 is selected from a single bond, an optionally substituted alkylene linker or an optionally substituted heteroalkylene linker. The invention also relates to a substrate comprising said polymer and to a method for immobilizing a polymer to a first surface of a substrate.
