In this study, we demonstrated the synthesis and characterization of organophosphate-appended cyclobutanofullerenes in the presence of a transition-metal catalyst by reacting C60 with secondary propargylic phosphates. In the reactions demonstrated, cyclobutenofullerenes were produced as minor products. The results revealed that the class of propargylic phosphate influences its reactivity toward C60

A mild and stereoselective gold(I)-catalyzed domino transformation of propargylicesters leading to substituted (1E,3E)-dienes has been developed. This cascade process proceeds via a sequence of 1,3-acyloxy- or 1,3-phosphatyloxy migrations to form allenic intermediate followed by a proton transfer.
