    An olefin polymer that is obtained using an olefin polymerization catalyst that includes a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization that includes titanium, magnesium, a halogen, and an ester compound (A) represented by the following formula (1): R 1 R 2 C═C(COOR 3 )(COOR 4 ), an organoaluminum compound, and an optional external electron donor compound, exhibits primary properties (e.g., molecular weight distribution and stereoregularity) similar to those of an olefin polymer obtained using a solid catalyst component that includes a phthalic ester as an electron donor.

    The present disclosure relates to a process for producing ethylene oligomers and more particularly, to a process for oligomerizing ethylene by recycling butene, hexene, and octene in an ethylene oligomerization reaction with a catalyst system including a transition metal or transition metal precursor, a ligand with a backbone structure expressed by the following Chemical Formula 1, and a co-catalyst. [Chemical Formula 1] R1—O—Y—O—R2 or R1—OC(═O)—Y—C(═O)OR2 Herein, R1, R2 are each independently hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl, or substituted heterohydrocarbyl, and Y represents a group connecting O or C(═O)O and is hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, hetero hydrocarbyl, or substituted heterohydrocarbyl. According to the oligomerization method of the present disclosure, in the distribution of the produced α-olefins, C10″-C12″ α-olefins care highly distributed, the produced α-olefins have a remarkably high purity.

    Provided is a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization comprising an electron-donating compound other than a phthalate, the solid catalyst component being equal in the olefin-polymerizing activity and in the primary physical properties of the resulting polymer such as stereoregularity and molecular weight distribution to those with use of a phthalate as an electron-donating compound. A solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization comprises a magnesium atom, a titanium atom, a halogen atom, an ester compound (A) represented by a general formula (1) and a diester compound (B) represented by a general formula (2), wherein a ratio represented by the following expression: (content (mass %) of ester compound (A)/content (mass %) of diester compound (B)) is 0.05 to 50.
