    An ink-jet recording method which enables recording of precise images by using a photo-curable ink and an ink-jet recording apparatus is disclosed, comprising ejecting an ink from a recording head to form ink dots on a recording medium, and exposing the recording medium to an actinic ray, wherein at least one of the timing of ejecting the ink and the rate of conveying recording medium is controlled so that the number of ink dots per unit length is greater in the sub-scanning direction than in the main scanning direction.

    By employing an ink-jet ink and an ink-jet set characterized in that in an ink-jet ink incorporating at least water, an organic solvent, and a polymer compound having a plurality of side chains on a hydrophilic main chain, the polymer in which at least a part of the side chains are crosslinkable via exposure to actinic radiation, and the polymer exists in a dissolved state in the ink-jet ink, and the polymer has a property that all amount of the polymer is not dissolved in water when the polymer is mixed with water in an amount of the same content ratio as in the ink-jet ink, and an ink-jet recording method using the same, printing adaptability onto various printing media and ejection stability are achieved, and images exhibiting excellent color bleeding resistance and excellent beading resistance are prepared.

    A method of plate making in which while utilizing the characteristics of convenience and high productivity attained by inkjet process, there are improved the plate life, resolving power and inking property having been problems of inkjet process plate making, and in which realizing high hardening sensitivity, plate making can be accomplished by a simple apparatus with the use of low-viscosity inkjet ink; and a lithographic printing plate obtained by the method.; There is provided a method of plate making through the sequential procedure of applying a plate making ink onto a printing plate material according to an inkjet recording technique, irradiating the ink with actinic energy rays, evaporating the ink solvent and drying to thereby attain image forming and thus obtain a printing plate, characterized in that the plate making ink contains at least water and an actinic energy ray hardening polymeric compound of 200 to 4000 polymerization degree amounting to 0.8 to 5.0 mass% based on the total mass of the ink. The polymeric compound in its main chain has multiple side chains such that therebetween, crosslink bonding can be effected by irradiation with actinic energy rays.

The ink for ink-jet recording includes colorant particles containing a colorant and a dispersing agent, and a polymer compound capable of forming a crosslinking bond by application of an active energy ray, wherein the dispersion average particle diameter of the colorant particles is from 1 nm to 50 nm, and a value represented by a formula (D90 - D10) is 100 nm or less. In the formula (D90 - D10), D90 and D10 represent, respectively, a particle diameter at which an integrated value of a particle diameter distribution function of the colorant particles which is represented by a formula dG = F(D)dD is 0.9 of the total number of colorant particles (90% by number), and 0.1 of the total number of colorant particles (10% by number), wherein G represents the number of particles, and D represents a particle diameter.
