Highly sensitive phototransistor with crystalline microribbons from new π-extended pyrene derivative via solution-phase self-assembly

A new pyrene-cored Ï-conjugated molecule has been synthesized through Sonogashira coupling reaction. The single-crystalline microribbon-based FET exhibited the highest mobility of 0.7 cm2 Vâ1 sâ1 (Ion/Ioff > 106). Single-crystalline microribbons were employed to operate in an organic phototransistor (OPT) under very low light intensity (I = 5.6 μW cmâ2).
The highest efficient red-to-green upconversion is achieved in a TTA-UC pair consisted of PdTPTBP and pyrene derivative via molecular engineering. This pair is successfully used to activate photooxidation of aryl boronic acid under red light, and the reaction yield is greatly improved compared to green light, showing the advantage of TTA-UC in photoredoxcatalysis.
