  (EN) An emulsion comprises a dicarboxylic acid of formula (I) wherein R1 and R3 are each C6 to C10 alkyl and R2 to R4 are each C6 to C10 alkylene (or a cosmetically acceptable salt thereof) and an effective amount of an emulsifying agent chosen such that the emulsion may be shear-thickened in use. The compound of formula (I) is also useful in sunscreens as an anti-free-radical agent.(FR) Emulsion comportant un acide dicarboxylique répondant à la formule (I), dans laquelle R1 et R3 représentent, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, alkyle C6-10, et R2 et R4 représentent, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, alkylène C6-10 (ou son sel cosmétiquement acceptable), et une quantité efficace d'un agent émulsionnant choisi de sorte que l'émulsion puisse s'épaissir sous cisaillement pendant son utilisation.
