The polymer films cross-linking method is based on the use as additive of low-molecular compound containing two 1,2-dicarbonyl groups at least, dissolved in the polymer in the amount between 1.2 and 11.7% (related to the polymer mass). The low-molecular compound is photoperoxidized by visible light and UV light in presence of oxygen till the 1,2-dicarbonyl groups are consumed by the formation of diacyl peroxide structures, decomposed subsequently by light or heat, thus creating the cross-linked polymer. The consumption of 1,2-dicarbonyl structures during the photoperoxidation and the subsequent decomposition of the diacyl peroxide groups at the generation of the cross-linked polymer is monitored according to the changes in IR spectra.
