arylboronic acids to para‐quinone methides has been developed. The catalytic system employing 4,4′‐dimethoxy‐2,2′‐bipyridine (DMeO‐BPy) as ligand and trifluoroethanol (TFE) as solvent provides diarylacetate products in high yields. A wide range of functionalized arylboronic acids can be used and the method tolerates some variation in the scope of the para‐quinone methides.
