Due to recent increases of vancomycin-resistant bacterial infections, research on more effective antibiotics has intensified, As part of such research, screening of combinatorial libraries is a valuable approach for discovering new lead antibiotics, A screening method is presented here that uses a solid state library and a fluorescent label to detect RCO-d-Ala-d-Ala binding in aqueous media. Screening of a combinatorial CTV-based artificial, syntheticreceptorlibrary 1 1-13, 1-13, 1-13} for binding of a variety d-Ala-d-Ala and d-Ala-d-Lac containing ligands (6–11) was carried out in phosphate buffer (0.1 N, pH=7.0). After screening and Edman sequencing, syntheticreceptors were found containing amino acid sequences, which are either characteristic for binding dye labeled d-Ala-d-Ala
