Abstract Two original ligands (LH 2 and L′H 2 ) comprising amido groups adjacent to unsaturated fragments have been synthesized. While reaction of metallic ions with L′H 2 results in breaking of the imine bonds, defined complexes of LH 2 [ N,N′ -bis(1-methyl-3-oxo-1-butenyl)oxamide] with copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II) and cobalt(III) may be isolated.
