    There is provided a non-aqueous electrolyte solution enabling fabrication of a non-aqueous electrolyte solution secondary battery which achieves suppressed gas generation when used under high temperature environment and the improved residual capacity of the battery, and the improved cycle characteristic thereof, and further, is excellent in discharge load characteristic (dischargeable at high rate), and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution secondary battery using the non-aqueous electrolyte solution. There is provided a non-aqueous electrolyte solution for use in a non-aqueous electrolyte solution secondary battery including a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material capable of absorbing and releasing a metal ion and a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material capable of absorbing and releasing a metal ion, which solution contains a bismaleimide compound having a specific structure, and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution secondary battery using the solution.
